      • Create Your Custom Apparel Step by Step

Welcome to the UMS Print online design editor. You can upload your own logo or image, add custom text, design the front, back, or sleeves, preview your product, and add it to your cart.

Follow the instructions below from top to bottom. Take your time and review your design carefully before placing your order.

Important: Use the same browser and device until you finish checkout. Do not close a Private or Incognito window before completing your order because your cart or design may no longer be available when you return.

        1. Choose Your Product Options

Before designing, choose the correct product options shown on the product page.

        • Garment color
        • Size
        • Quantity
        • Product style, when more than one style is available

After selecting your options, open the Design Studio. Make sure the product, color, size, and quantity are correct before spending time creating your design.

Tip: The price may change when you change the quantity, garment, print location, or number of printed sides.

        2. Choose the Area You Want to Design

Your product may include several printable areas:

        • Front
        • Back
        • Left sleeve
        • Right sleeve

Select the side you want to work on before adding your image or text. You can move between the available sides while designing.

Before continuing to the cart, check every side. An image added to the front does not automatically appear on the back or sleeves.

Important: Printing on additional locations, such as both the front and back or either sleeve, may increase the total price.

        3. Upload Your Logo, Photo, or Artwork

Open the Images section and choose the upload option. Select the image from your computer, phone, or tablet.

For the best printing result, upload the original and highest-quality version of your artwork.

        Recommended image types

        • PNG: Best for logos, text, and artwork with a transparent background.
        • JPG or JPEG: Good for photographs and images with a normal background.
        • High-resolution artwork: Clear, sharp images produce better prints.

        Avoid uploading

        • Small screenshots
        • Blurry or pixelated images
        • Images copied from social media
        • Artwork with unwanted white or colored backgrounds
        • Images that have been repeatedly downloaded and compressed
        • Extremely large files that are not necessary for printing
Best choice for most logos: A clean, high-resolution PNG image with a transparent background.

A large file is not automatically a good-quality image. Sharpness, resolution, correct dimensions, and a clean background are more important than file size alone.

        Image Upload Requirements

        • Maximum file size: 8,000 KB, which is approximately 8 MB per uploaded image.
        • Minimum image dimensions: 500 × 500 pixels.
        • Maximum image dimensions: 5400 × 7200 pixels.
        • Recommended print resolution: 300 PPI at the size the artwork will be printed.
        • Best format for most logos: A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background.
        • Best format for photographs: A high-quality JPG or JPEG.
We recommend 300 PPI for the best printing quality. Many people call this “300 DPI.” The correct measurement for a digital image is PPI, or pixels per inch. If the editor displays a low-resolution warning, your image may print blurry, pixelated, or less detailed. Continuing after a quality warning means you accept that the final print may reflect the quality of the uploaded file.

Images larger than the maximum dimensions may be automatically reduced by the editor. Automatic resizing cannot restore missing detail or improve a blurry, compressed, or low-quality image.

        4. Add Custom Text

Use the text tool to add names, numbers, business information, team names, event details, slogans, or other personalized wording.

Depending on the available editor tools, you may be able to change:

        • Font style
        • Text size
        • Text color
        • Alignment
        • Spacing
        • Rotation
        • Position
Check your spelling carefully. Review every name, date, phone number, website address, jersey number, and line of text. Your product will be printed using the information you submit.

        5. Move, Resize, and Rotate Your Design

Click or tap an image or text element to select it. Use the available controls to move, resize, or rotate it.

        • Drag the design to move it.
        • Use the corner controls to resize it.
        • Use the rotation control to turn it.
        • Keep the design inside the printable area.

Do not stretch a logo wider or taller than its original shape. Stretching can make circles look oval and can make text or logos look distorted.

Do not make a small, low-quality image extremely large. Enlarging a blurry image does not add detail and may cause a pixelated print.

Simple rule: If the image looks blurry, rough, or pixelated in the editor, it may also look blurry or pixelated when printed.

        6. Keep Everything Inside the Printable Area

The editor displays the area where your artwork can be printed. Keep all important parts of your design inside that area.

Do not place names, faces, phone numbers, small text, or important parts of a logo directly against the outer edge.

        • Leave a small amount of space around the design.
        • Make sure no letters are cut off.
        • Make sure the entire logo is visible.
        • Check that the design is centered the way you want it.

The on-screen preview is a visual guide. Minor differences in exact placement or print size may occur during production.

        7. Choose Colors That Are Easy to See

Make sure your artwork and text can be clearly seen against the garment color.

        • Light artwork usually looks best on dark garments.
        • Dark artwork usually looks best on light garments.
        • Avoid using white artwork on a white shirt unless the design includes a visible outline.
        • Avoid using black artwork on a black shirt unless the design includes lighter details.

Colors shown on a phone, tablet, or computer screen may not match the final printed colors exactly. Screens use light to display colors, while printing uses ink. Small differences in brightness, shade, or saturation are normal.

        8. Review Every Printed Side

Before adding the product to your cart, review all available print locations.

        Final Review Checklist

        ✓  Front design is correct

        ✓  Back design is correct

✓  Left sleeve design is correct

✓  Right sleeve design is correct

✓  Artwork looks clear and is not blurry

✓  All text and spelling are correct

✓  Nothing important is outside the printable area

✓  Artwork is the correct size and position

        9. Preview Your Custom Product

Use the preview to review the overall appearance of your customized garment.

        Confirm the following:

        • The correct garment is selected.
        • The garment color is correct.
        • The size is correct.
        • The quantity is correct.
        • The correct print locations are being used.
        • The artwork is clear and properly positioned.
        • All personalized text is correct.

The preview helps you understand the approximate appearance of the finished item. It is not a color-calibrated production proof.

        10. Add Your Design to the Cart

When your design is finished, use the editor's continue or add-to-cart option.

Your cart should show the customized product, selected variation, quantity, price, and a generated preview image.

Review everything again before going to checkout.

Do not assume the design is correct just because it is in the cart. Look at the preview and verify the product color, size, quantity, artwork, text, and print locations.

        11. Edit the Design From Your Cart

If you notice a mistake before placing the order, use Edit Design in the cart.

This will return you to the Design Studio so you can correct the artwork, text, size, location, or other design details.

After making the correction, save or continue again so the updated design returns to the cart.

If an Edit Color option is available, you may use it to change the garment color. Review the design again after changing the color to make sure the artwork is still easy to see.

        12. Complete Checkout

Enter your contact, billing, shipping, and payment information carefully.

        Before placing the order, confirm:

        • Product style
        • Garment color
        • Size
        • Quantity
        • Front artwork
        • Back artwork
        • Sleeve artwork
        • Names, numbers, dates, and spelling
        • Shipping address
        • Email address and phone number

Once an order enters production, changes may no longer be possible. Contact UMS Print as soon as possible if you notice an error after ordering, but changes cannot be guaranteed.

        Artwork Quality Tips

        Transparent backgrounds

Use a transparent PNG when you want only the logo, text, or artwork printed without a visible rectangular background.

        Image resolution

Upload the original image whenever possible. A screenshot of a logo is usually lower quality than the original logo file.

        Small details

Very small text, extremely thin lines, tiny dots, delicate shadows, and fine details may not print exactly as they appear on a screen.

        Image background

If your image has a white box behind it, that white box may appear in the design. Use a transparent background when you do not want the box printed.

        Copyright and trademarks

Only upload images, logos, names, and artwork that you created, own, licensed, or have permission to reproduce.

Orders containing unauthorized copyrighted, trademarked, hateful, illegal, or otherwise prohibited material may be rejected or canceled.

Customer Content Rules and Legal Responsibility

Only submit content that you own or have legal permission to use.

By uploading or submitting any image, logo, photograph, text, name, symbol, design, or other material, you confirm that you own the content or have obtained every permission, license, and authorization required for UMS Print to reproduce it on the products you order.

        Prohibited content

Do not upload, submit, or request the production of content that includes, depicts, promotes, or facilitates:

        • Illegal activity or material prohibited by applicable law.
        • Copyright or trademark infringement, counterfeit branding, or the unauthorized use of another person’s artwork, logo, photograph, character, name, brand, or design.
        • Pornographic, sexually explicit, obscene, exploitative, or non-consensual intimate material.
        • Any sexual, abusive, exploitative, or inappropriate depiction involving a person under 18 years of age.
        • Human trafficking, sexual exploitation, abuse, coercion, or instructions that facilitate such conduct.
        • Credible threats, targeted harassment, stalking, intimidation, or encouragement of violence.
        • Hateful or dehumanizing content directed at a person or group because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or another protected characteristic.
        • Terrorist propaganda, recruitment, praise, fundraising, or instructional material.
        • Content that unlawfully violates another person’s privacy, publicity rights, confidentiality, or personal safety.
        • Defamatory material, fraudulent impersonation, deceptive claims, or content intended to facilitate criminal activity.
        • Content that unlawfully endangers, exploits, threatens, abuses, or targets UMS Print employees, contractors, customers, or members of the public.

UMS Print May Refuse Prohibited Content

Submitting a design does not guarantee that UMS Print will accept or produce it. UMS Print may review, reject, remove, place on hold, or cancel any design or order that we reasonably believe violates these rules, applicable law, another person’s rights, or the safety and working conditions of our employees and contractors.

No UMS Print employee or contractor is required to handle, review, reproduce, or produce content that reasonably appears illegal, abusive, exploitative, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise prohibited by legal standards.

        Your responsibility for submitted content

You are responsible for the content you submit and for obtaining all required permissions. UMS Print does not independently verify copyright ownership, trademark rights, licensing, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other legal permissions for every design.

You give UMS Print limited permission to store, process, resize, reproduce, and use your submitted files only as reasonably necessary to generate previews, provide customer support, process and fulfill your order, manufacture the requested products, maintain order records, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable law.

UMS Print may preserve relevant records and report suspected illegal content or activity to the appropriate authorities when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect customers, employees, victims, or the public.

        Before Uploading

Make sure you own the artwork, have permission to print it, and have reviewed it for prohibited or unlawful content.

        Frequently Asked Questions

Can I upload my own logo?

Yes. Upload the clearest and highest-quality version available. A transparent PNG is usually best for logos.

Can I use both an image and text?

Yes. You can combine uploaded artwork, logos, names, numbers, and custom text in the same design.

Can I design both the front and back?

Yes, when both print locations are available for the selected product. Printing on additional sides may increase the price.

Can I print on the sleeves?

Sleeve printing is available on supported products. Select the left or right sleeve in the editor and add your artwork.

Why does my image look blurry?

The original image may be too small or low quality. Enlarging a small image does not create new detail.

Why does my logo have a white box behind it?

The uploaded image probably has a white background. Upload a transparent PNG when you want the background removed.

Will the printed color match my screen exactly?

Not always. Screens and printing equipment reproduce colors differently. Small color differences are normal.

Can I change my design after adding it to the cart?

Yes. Use Edit Design in the cart before placing your order.

Will my design remain saved after I close the browser?

It may remain temporarily connected to the current browser session, but this is not guaranteed. Closing an Incognito or Private window, clearing cookies, or switching devices may prevent you from returning to the same cart or design.

What should I do if the editor appears stuck?

Wait a few seconds before clicking repeatedly. Make sure your internet connection is active. If necessary, refresh the page once and reopen the product from a fresh browser tab.

What happens after I place the order?

Your order information and submitted design are prepared for review and production. Contact UMS Print immediately if you notice an error.

        Final Check Before Ordering
